Poor gear shifting / trouble with rear derailer

Purchased this bike approximately 3 weeks ago. Within two weeks noticed that the rear derailer was skipping 7th gear. When the handlebar indicator indicated 7th gear the bike was actually in 6th gear, on the rear sprocket. Then when 8th gear was selected the rear derailer moved the chain to the 8th gear sprocket, skipping over the 7th gear sprocket. Returned bike to retailer. They exchanged it for a new one, said that the rear derailer was bent.
The replacement bike has the same problem, skipping over 7th gear but this one also skips back and forth between 3rd & 4th gear when in 3rd gear. Seems like a tuning issue, which should have been checked before being given to a customer.
Receipt and web site indicate a free 30 day free tune up. Informed by the retailer that they do not do tune ups, only fix a problem if one exist.

Good bike but faulty forks

I've had this bike for maybe 2 weeks and I've noticed when applying my front break and pushing back and forth there is movement in the forks and not the head set. Where the stations go into the lowers it moves there

Bike

Purchased Raleigh Ridge HS Hardtail Mountain Bike 29 for my teenage Son this spring because he outgrew his old bike. He really likes it and says it rides smooth. Every bike Ive owned in my entire life and both my kids bikes over the years have all been purchased at Canadian Tire. Never had any issues with a bike.
